Chess Life Board - Never seen before!

64 Squares of the Chess Board

?Chess is played on 8 X 8 board which has 64 squares. Out of this game begins with 32 squares occupied by pieces of both players.

As the game progresses, pieces move. Chess player has to constantly think of –

·?????All pieces on the board

·?????Squares that are attacked

·?????Pieces that are attacked and need to be protected

·?????Weaker & stronger squares

·?????Not allowing opponent pieces to launch attack on pieces and key squares

What does this convey, a chess player has to constantly keep an of every chess square. Also, importance, degree of attention changes as the game progresses and also on the basis of pieces on the board.

For example at the beginning, centre control is more important as highlighted below -

Another example - When there is an attack, focus shifts to defend the attack

Interpretation & Takeaway -

It’s not about centre green squares or attached red squares but the idea is to focus on the relevant square based on the situation of the game.

This needs – decision making, time management, being calm, think of consequences, accept realties, try to progress, taking risks, launching attack and so on.

So, we can say that every square matters and chess players has to take care of it!?
