????cheqd Dock Token Merger Approved????
The token merger between cheqd and Dock has been officially approved by both $CHEQ and $DOCK holders. This milestone marks the next phase of our journey together to deliver the most feature-complete software stack for decentralised ID. Both Dock and cheqd will remain separate legal entities, each focusing on their strengths. cheqd will continue to advance payment and trust infrastructure at the network-layer, while Dock will continue focused on issuance, verification, and monetization of verifiable credentials for Identity Solution Providers through their Certs platform. Here’re some video drops about the DID alliance from Fraser, Ankur, Nick, and Elina.
????cheqd Joined GAN as a Founding Member????
The Global Acceptance Network (GAN) has made its public appearance and cheqd has joined as one of its founding members. cheqd has joined GAN because it aligns with our mission to create interoperable digital trust ecosystems. GAN's vision of providing a "DNS for Trust" is key to fostering seamless, secure, and scalable trust relationships across digital spaces. This will allow us to accelerate the adoption of verifiable credentials and decentralised identity solutions, making the internet more secure. We look forward to contributing to GAN’s vision and building a more secure and interconnected digital future alongside Accenture, Fragomen, NTT Digital, Gen, Quanta, and more.

????Hitting 100,000 DIDs on the Testnet????
The cheqd network has officially hit 100,000 DIDs on the testnet. Thanks to our partners who integrate our trust and payment infrastructure to create their own SSI, eID, and digital credential ecosystems. By offering a decentralised infrastructure that combines identity with payment rails, cheqd allows organisations to manage not just digital identities, but also incentivise trust verification and credential issuance. This creates new business models around verifiable credentials while ensuring that user data remains secure and only shared with consent.
????Token2049. Dorahacks. Korea Blockchain Week.????
The cheqd and Creds team recently joined the biggest event in the web3 space, Token2049 Singapore. We were the Silver Sponsor at the main conference, showcasing our identity solutions and conducting live demos to attendees at a dedicated booth. The team joined various side events during the week as well. Besides, cheqd supported DoraHacks Appchain Day, one of the side events at Token2049, as the Food and Beverage Sponsor. Fraser was a panellist on its Sovereign Applications Panel. Prior to Token2049, the team attended Korea Blockchain Week as a Supporting Partner. The Asia trip has validated our vision that self-sovereign identity is on the rise in the East.
?????New Proposals in September?????
The proposal to work on Universal DID-Linkedin Resources has passed. This technology will be aligned with ongoing standardisation processes at W3C and DIF, and generally help to spread the concept of DID Linked Resources beyond the cheqd ecosystem.
Besides, a new proposal was raised to increase the minimum commission rate of all validators to 5%. If this proposal is accepted, the blockchain will need to be updated to enable the modification. Cast your vote.
On the other hand, we invite you to join the discussion for Universal Trust Registries on Commonwealth. We are collaborating with the Fraunhofer Institute to develop a robust, universal trust registry model for DIDs.
??SSI Market Report??
cheqd is highlighted as one of the key players alongside Dock, WaltID, and more in a Global SSI Market report released by Research and Markets.
