CHELCO seeks an IT Support Specialist

CHELCO, a progressive member-owned electric utility in DeFuniak Springs, seeks an IT Support Specialist to join their energized five-person IT department and desires to harness the power of six.
As the IT Support Specialist, you would:
· Help ensure that we can meet our members' and internal customers' needs by maintaining computers and peripheral devices to include telephones, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
· Locate and troubleshoot computer, telephone, connectivity, and network errors using appropriate software.
· Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical problems with computer equipment and software.
· Repair and replace equipment malfunctions and supply the necessary technical support.
· Resolve issues on LAN/WAN, VoIP telephone, biometric, and AV systems connections.
· Assist with testing and development of new applications and systems.
· Keep computer supplies available
· Monitor compliance with the cooperative's policy on end-users' computer practices.
The following qualifications and skills are required: High School diploma and at least seven years of related experience; or two years of college/associate's degree and at least one year of related experience. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Operating Systems is required. Demonstrates high skill level and knowledge with broad exposure to all aspects of infrastructure support. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft certified desktop support technician (MCDST); Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE); and/or Desktop Support Technician Certifications (HDI) certifications preferred.
The desired candidate will have the following knowledge, qualifications, and skills:
· Excellent customer service via in-person, telephone, and writing.
· Strong sense of accountability, motivation, and ownership.
· Critical thinking-using logic and reasoning to identify problems or concerns with software, hardware, and system updates.
· The ability to conduct system analysis and cause/effect predictions
· Should have sound judgment and decision making abilities to determine problem resolution and effects.
· Ability to converse with internal and/or external customers in English.
· Troubleshooting online pay systems, preferred
· Familiarity with ITIL or other industry best practices guidance (FitSM, ISO, COBIT, YaSM, MOF), preferred.
The normal workweek is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm at the CHELCO Headquarters building in DeFuniak Springs. With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance at a designated worksite location is considered essential.
