CHELCO seeks an Energy Advisor.
As an Energy Advisor, you would help people improve their energy efficiency by conducting energy audits. You would gather data and perform surge protection evaluations. Energy Advisors also attend, promote, and represent CHELCO in civic groups, meetings, and events. You would also research, communicate, and assist with answering members' questions about alternative energies, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. Requires some after-hours and weekend work; mostly 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. This position reports to CHELCO's headquarters office in DeFuniak Springs, FL.

Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent preferred with a minimum of four years related experience; or an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in a related field with at least two years of related experience. At least two years of experience should be in customer service or public relations.
The desired candidate will also have the following skills and abilities:
- Must be able to courteously and tactfully communicate with members and the public. Includes good active listening, problem sensitivity, and speaking abilities.
- Must be able to adjust to changes in schedule to accommodate members' needs and civic duties.
- Must be able to use critical thinking skills and analyze and use data to make suggestions.
- Must be computer literate and familiar with programs similar to Microsoft Office.
- Must have reading comprehension and professional writing skills.
The selected candidate would be required to complete the following training and certifications within their first five years of employment: Manual J Calculation certification, Heat Pump Analysis certification, Residential Energy Auditor training, project management training, and Leadership Walton or Okaloosa training.
