A Chef?
Am I a Chef???
I've never been called a chef or a baker. It's probably because it's not something I love to do. I enjoy ordering in as opposed to cooking! My brother is a chef, a real chef, but I never had an interest. My interests are marketing, business, PR, blogging, podcasting, and triathlons, but you already know that...
So, when Wendy Phaff reached out to me to ask if I wanted to be Chef of the Year, I didn't know what to think. Then, she told me about the Queens Center for Progress and she took me on a tour of the facility. And, after that, I immediately agreed to help them.
At the Queens Center for Progress, the staff helps both children and adults with developmental disabilities. Their programs impact 1,200 people on a daily basis.
Did you know that I worked for two non-profit organizations that had a similar mission?
To me, it's imperative that we help our own communities, especially people with developmental disabilities to grow and thrive. And, Queens Center for Progress does just that!
I would love for you to join me on Tuesday, March 3rd at Terrace on the Park when I will be recognized as “Chef of the Year” by Queens Centers for Progress (QCP) at their signature networking event, “Evening of Fine Food.” This unique gourmet dining experience is a fundraising event that attracts more than 500 people from the Queens community, including local businesses, elected officials, and the top restaurants and chefs in the neighborhood.
