Dear Teachers and Educators;
Here you will find a short story you can tell students to help them discover their strengths and be happy with them.
The purpose of the story is to demonstrate the importance of recognizing and embracing one's unique strengths, as demonstrated by The Lion and the Cheetah. Animals in the savanna achieve success and happiness by focusing on their individual talents and working together.
A strength-based story: Cheetah and Lion
In the vast savanna, Lion and Cheetah were admired by all for their remarkable strengths. Lion was known for its mighty power, while Cheetah was celebrated for its unmatched speed.
Every day, Lion roamed confidently across the plains, exuding strength and authority in every step. Meanwhile, Cheetah dashed gracefully through the grasslands, leaving a trail of dust in its wake.
Despite their distinct abilities, Lion and Cheetah never felt the need to compare themselves to one another. Lion didn't envy Cheetah's swiftness, and Cheetah did not covet Lion's power. Instead, they embraced their own strengths and utilized them to thrive in their environment.
One day, a wise old elephant approached them as they basked under the warm African sun. "Why don't you ever wish for each other's strengths?" the elephant inquired.
Lion let out a hearty laugh and replied, "Because I am content with the power I have. It allows me to protect my pride and uphold my role as the savanna king."

The cheetah was cut in agreement and added, "And my speed enables me to hunt swiftly and gracefully. I have no need for power when I can outrun any prey."
The wise old elephant shot approvingly. "You see," it said, "just like Lion and Cheetah, each of you possesses unique strengths waiting to be discovered and embraced."
As the animals reflected on the elephant's words, they realized the truth behind them. From that day forward, they vowed to focus on their individual strengths and use them to their fullest potential.
And so, the animals of the savanna learned a valuable lesson: by recognizing and utilizing their strengths, they could achieve greater success and happiness, just like Lion and Cheetah. As they ventured forth, each animal began their journey of self-discovery, eager to unlock their own hidden potential.
