Cheers to 10 Years: An Open Letter from Jeremiah Forster

We are celebrating a special career milestone! Jeremiah Forster , Recruiting Director and partner, has officially worked with Curare Physician Recruiting for 10 years. "While every anniversary is important, those that end in 0 seem the most meaningful," wrote Dave Witte, Chairman of the Board, in a company-wide e-mail congratulating Jeremiah for his tenure. "Reply all" messages poured in from colleagues expressing thanks and warm wishes to Jeremiah for being a wonderful colleague, business partner, role model, and friend.

On the celebration of his 10-year tenure with Curare, Jeremiah shares wisdom with his colleagues, and our readers:

"The past 10 years have been the best time of my life both professionally and personally. My time with this company has put myself and my family in a position we could never have dreamed about before. It went from people blessing our family, to being in a position where we can help and bless others.?I take tremendous pride in working for an organization that treats me well, challenges me to be better, and rewards my success. Curare truly looks out for each employee and gives everyone a fun, collaborative and supportive environment where you have the ability to thrive.

I live my life by two mantras: “Blessed to be a blessing,” and, “A life worth living is one lived well”.

“Blessed to be a blessing.” While professional satisfaction is great, and while working for a great company is fulfilling, nothing will ever compare to helping people. What keeps me going is the ability to help people and make a major impact in their lives. There is no greater joy than to place physicians where I know the community will have great benefit and it will change the life of the physician and their family. That is what Curare does. It went from people blessing our family, to being in a position where we can help and bless others. Serving and helping others is absolutely second to none.

“A life worth living is one lived well.” You get one shot at this life.? You get one chance.? Why not absolutely CRUSH everything you do? Whether it be professional or privately, your life should be something that you not only shoot for the stars, but you expect to achieve lofty goals and expectations.? I have had successes in my life and I have had failures. What hasn’t changed is I have always worked exceptionally hard and I have taken chances. I dreamed big (when everyone told me it was silly) and I expected big things. I am going to put every ounce of me into every single day and no matter what the outcome, no one will ever be able to tell me I did not work hard, I did not try to better myself, and I did not care.

We have something very special here. You have the support here to accomplish anything that you want. I could not be more proud of this company, the people I work with, and the partners I have. I tell people with great pride what I do, who my bosses are, and about the people I get to work with. Recruiting is not for everyone, and it has its challenges, but man, I would not want to do anything else.

My advice is this: know what you are worth, and then go out and get what you are worth, and don't let anyone stand in your way or tell you that you can't accomplish something. I have been exceptionally fortunate over the past 10 years, and I am grateful for all that are seeing great success, and hope and pray that everyone may fulfill their potential. Success is worth the struggle, and hard work is always worth it. Be blessed to be a blessing, and make your life one worth living well. In my opinion, it is the only way to live."

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is:? What are you doing for others?" -?Martin Luther King, Jr.
