"CHEERIOS SUCK! You want to buy some cheerios?"

"CHEERIOS SUCK! You want to buy some cheerios?"  Too many actors operate that way. 

"I suck. You want to hire me?"

"My career sucks. You want to represent me??"   

"I'm too _____(tall, short, fat, young, old, ethnic, white, rich, poor, inexperienced, etc.) 

You want to buy some?"

Many times, actors think too poorly of themselves...to get representation, or get hired for acting jobs. It's tough to sell a product you don't believe in. So, get less negative. And/or become a better actor. I've met actors that have become better actors, and still think they suck.

For the business side, learn to like your talent.

I've met dozens and dozens of actors who have said they can "drop that negative stuff," and just go into an audition and book the job.  And a very, very small handful can. 

But MOST of them don't "GET AUDITIONS" because they think they are "spoiled milk" and they don't really want anyone to smell that, so they don't write the letter, or make the call.  

PASSION & BELIEF lead to the Oscars!  

Get fired up about what you LOVE.  Don't worry if what you love is not good enough for anyone else to sing, just sing your song.  If you love GOONIES, lead with Goonies.  If you love Goblins, Vampires and dwarfs, lead with that!!  

Passion.

Do 100 more hours of rehearsal. Let me know when you've reached 100 hours of rehearsals for scenes for class. And then we'll talk about your belief in yourself.  

Until then, "no criticizing yourself." Just do more rehearsals and scenes in class, and auditions. Perform for 100 more hours, and then we'll talk about belief.
