Checklist to New Patient Appointments

Dentistry is an artistic profession. It needs creativity and innovation. Not only is a dentist spreading smiles but also building great social relations.

There are countless day-to-day hurdles to face as a dentist. Not only are they performing procedures, developing treatment plans, and trying to stay on top of the most advanced techniques and products, but they’re also managing a business and they were never trained for how to manage a business.

I have spoken to many practice owners that are constantly struggling to grow their practice, let alone not be able to fulfill their dreams to own a second or third dental practice. The cost of setting up the clinic and equipment is increasing and they need to keep investing in the latest technology.

?????????? ?????? ?????? ???? ???????????? ???? ???????? ?????????????? ???????????????????? but many practice owners can use some help in the marketing aspect of the business.

That is why for you and for the rest of the people who are reading this post, I'll use this daily post strategy, in which I will write a series of steps that you can implement to get a competitive edge in your business.

Let's start with Setting up the foundations that can fill up your calendar with appointments

MINDSET plays an important role and with a correct mindset, we can change our business whatever

This Mindset Shifting Excercise would put you in the zone that brings you results that you have never thought of.

In 2007, I moved to Hong Kong, a country where I didn't have a single person that I could call a friend or family and I tried to establish my business in a new place.

I failed miserably for the first 2 years and then the economic recession of 2009 came. I had lost all hopes to establish a successful business and was about to give up and return to my home country when I came across David, who later became a good friend. He made me realize that the problem lied with my approach and my mindset. He convinced me that although it was a tough time for business, it was also a time when most of my competition would not be able to survive and vanish.

I sat down to evaluate what I was doing wrong and what could be improved. The business was the same, conditions were the same and the only thing that was changed was my approach, and my conviction that it will work for me. Although I needed to make some changed in my approach, the mindset was one of the most important factors.

Darwin's theory of "Survival of the fittest" proved to be true and I was able to grow my business to 8 figures a year.

We will begin with the Mindset.

Here is a list of six mindset shifts that you can adopt to grow your practice.

1. ???????????? ?????? ???????? ???? ???????? ???????? ?????????????? ???? ?????? ?????????????? ??????????????????

Your business is your baby and as a parent, you might not be the best parent(we learn every day), but it’s your job and responsibility to be the most dependable person to take care of your baby.

Even if you let somebody take care of your baby, it would be only for some time, but still can't only rely on others to take care of your kid. In a nutshell, for your business, you have to be involved to make sure that either you or someone responsible in your team do the work that is required and report it to you regularly.

I often hear dentists being burned by marketing agencies and they were promised the moon but didn't get what they were told.

Marketing agencies only can do a certain part to build up your name, get you the leads but turning a practice will need your active involvement. They can give you leads but the conversion is mainly in the hand of the person answering the phone calls. Training can be provided for that as well but they must be willing to learn.

And most importantly, for everyone in your clinic, the best interest of the patients should be the Topmost priority.

2. ?????????? ?? ???????????????? ???????? ?????????????? ?????????????? ???? ???????? ????????????

In all my consultancy, I have seen businesses fail only because they didn't set up systems in their business.

There are multiple reasons for this with the major one is "They are too busy to implement". Especially with Dentists, they are busy inpatient appointments but setting up systems is not on the priority list.

When I say building a business, you need to understand it is a system, where you add your hard work, time, energy, and initial monetary investment as an input to receive returns on investment as output.

They should be able to see the returns and every step should be measurable with the data.

And you need to continually tweak your system to always have your output more than your input.

Let me ask you:

Do you have a system to follow when you get a new lead?

Do you follow up with your existing patients?

Do you keep your peak hours free for adjusting new patient appointments?

Focus you on getting full calendars of high-value patients for your current practice and then look for expansion.

3. ???????? ???????? ???????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ???????? ?????????????? ???? ?????????????? ?????? ?????? ???????????? ???? ????????????

If you fail to plan, you have already planned to fail.

We are living a world that goes in cycles… there is a ‘Day’ Cycle, ‘Week’ cycle, “Monthly” cycle, “Quarterly” cycle, “Year” cycle.

The question is, Do you organize your actions that you are going to take for your business?

“Yearly” cycle - Have you outlined where do you want to see yourself and the goals you achieved in your business and your life in the next 1 year.

“Quarterly”, “Monthly” and “Week” cycle - Have you break down the goal that you want to achieve in one year into quarterly, monthly, and weekly goals, and the action plan to complete it in the said time.

At the end of the day, focus on completing one action at the time, which is adding to the growth toward the business.

Sidenote: When marketing, you have to take actions that make you profitable, establish your brand value, and not just make you busy.

4. ?????????? ?????????????????? ??????????????, ?????????????? ???? ???????? ?????????????????? ??????????????

This mindset shift is the ultimate game-changer.

You have to move from a place from Consuming content to Producing content.

This shift may be difficult for someone who is an introvert or extremely busy but producing content in the form of case studies not only establish your authority in your field but also generate trust in your patients.

For Example - A case study of how a difficult procedure of implant gave new confidence to your patient. How it helped in his career. Remember, Humans, are driven by emotions.

PRO TIP: Case studies of the impact on someone's life is much more powerful than just mentioning your expertise. You can add silent persuasion methods in your case studies for deep impact. ( More on this in the coming days.)

Producing content would take you to the next level altogether.

5 ???????????????? ?????????????? ??????????????????????????

Rome was not built in a day. Even your business would need time to build and grow.

So why do you need to practice Delayed Gratification…

For Example, if you start going to the gym, you won’t see any muscle on day 1.

You have to put in the continuous efforts, - going to the gym and - working out working every day

And eventually, you will start to see the muscles in 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year down the line.

That is the same thing you have to do in your business

And eventually, you will be able to see the results of the systems that you have set up to get new appointments.

6. ???????? ???????? ???????????? ???????? ?????? ???????????? ?????? ????????-??????????

Every time we take action, our monkey mind would most likely create self-doubt in your mind.

The doubt stays until we start to take the action.

Having that realization that your self-doubt can’t do anything when you focus on completing the action.

But how do you tame your Monkey Mind?

Give yourself to take imperfect actions rather than waiting for a perfect moment.

And if you follow a proven system, you can get the results in a quick time.
