Check Your Surroundings

Check Your Surroundings

Different. Hypervigilant.

Soaking in every detail, 360 degrees.

?

Pears growing in the tree outside.

Fat, furry bumble bee tripping around the flower bush. A monarch.

Yellow, red, cerulean, pink, orange. Lots of green.

Do they know they’re different?

?

Faint wafts of breads and coffees.

?

A muster of good old buddies nearby laughing their privilege out loud.

Safe in their sphere.

Fear to feel. Sadness without malice.

From observation to preservation.

?

Between beauty and threat, where do we belong?

Insecure. To name it.

We hardly know our range.

?

Ah, the moon. Looming connection.

Mercy. Forgiveness. Hope and love. Faith.

Do we even want to believe that we’re so connected?

How will we love? Forgive?

?

Half of the equation, who will meet to discuss?

Pivot to the wreckage. Hinge to the beauty.

Do we really need closure to let go?

Our pain is upon us. Mercy.

?

Glory we’ve become.

Miracles beyond us.

Magnificence.

?

Breathe deep reverence. Benevolence.

May we remember. Weep.

Check our surroundings and do our part.

We're so lucky here that we have time to observe all these things and experience it ??
