How Duolingo (the learning app) scaled engagement with effective goal-setting

Conor Walsh joined Duolingo as a product manager in June 2018 and soon took on the challenge of engaging learners with 'Stories' on the app.

'Stories' was a key initiative in enhancing the learning experience of users on the phone.

Walsh dived right away into setting OKRs (Objectives and key results) to tackle this challenge. He brought every team member to be involved in the discussion and set meaningful OKRs like this:

Fast-forward 16 months, and Walsh and the team were able to engage 60,000+ more users with 'Stories.'
