Good morning Achiever,
Most of you know by now... I love the outdoors. And my kids, man, sometimes I think they're "animal whisperers".
Everywhere we go, they find something.
EVEN if we're in an area that normally shouldn't have anything...
Like this Saturday, we were just walking the edge of an old sand pit, and I heard Lincoln shout "B, there's 2 snakes!" (B is what Link calls Baron lol)
Without missing a beat, they're both scrambling through the bush chasing these snakes.
At first, I didn't believe they actually saw one... let alone two...
Until they both come out grinning ear to ear with two nice Garter snakes.
I was quite impressed already...
Then Baron extends his hands and says "can you take this out?" "And this", "And this one too"
His hands we're full of 1.5 inch thorns.
I asked what happened, he said "it went in a thorn bush but I wasn't letting it get away from me!"
He had a goal.
And nothing was going to get in his way.
You can see his left hand has some blood dripping down... And his right hand closed, clearly in a bit of pain.
His goal was getting away, his goal was hard to get, his goal was doing what all worthy goals do - it was making sure you really WANT it.
But they didn't let no pesky thorns stop them from what they wanted, what they were after.
And let's face it... in life, you're going to go through a thorn bush or two of your own.
Jim Rohn once said "If you aren't willing to risk the unusual, you'll have to settle for the ordinary"
If you want MORE in your life, you need to risk what you have right now.
Now, let me be clear... My emails are ALWAYS talking to those who, in their heart, know they're destined for more.
If you're totally happy with where you are, what you have, and have no desire, no burning in their soul, no tapping on the shoulder, to step up and grow, I tip my hat to you.
But my experience has been that most people SETTLE for less than they desire.
And if you're settling, I'm telling you now, go through the thorns.
Because beyond those thorns, is an ear-to-ear smile.
Let the others stop at the thorns, while you push through to your dreams.
