The oil world is changing, Norway is no exception. Oil companies are now focusing more on being energy companies not only oil companies. The companies seek to expand into new segments, related to, among other things, low-carbon solutions and renewable energy. Another example in the industry is the acquisition company HitecVision, they are known for acquiring, restructuring, building up and selling various types of companies within the energy sector, especially in the oil and gas segment. The challenge is that the companies largely consist of the same or are staffed up from traditional oil companies to a large extent, which could be an obstacle for renewing their incumbent business. We are incredibly interested to know how that transition happens.
To talk about this, I have been fortunate to speak with Hans Jakob Hegge. Last year, he was hired as the new CFO of the Oil Service and Supplier Group Moreld, that is controlled by HitecVision. The exciting part is that Hans Jakob has worked in Equinor for the past 25, in a variety of roles. He will share insights and information about the issue of cultural transition, going from oil companies to renewable energy companies.
