Check Engine for Semiconductors

Check Engine for Semiconductors

We have all been there, we are driving in our car and suddenly we look down and there it is. The light on our dashboard “Check Engine”. Immediately your heart begins to race, and your mind says should I stop? Should I drive my car to a shop? The check engine light was added to the automobile in 1996, twenty-six years ago and it tells us absolutely nothing about what is wrong. We must either buy a device that reads the error code or take it to a mechanic to read the code.?

While technology is constantly changing in our automobiles, the “Check Engine” light serves only to warn us that something is not functioning correctly. With over 3,000 semiconductor chips in today’s vehicles, why can’t we predict failures before they occur? Companies today are seeing degradation in their semiconductors resulting in silent data corruption errors. What is being seen today is that semiconductors over time and a heavy workload start to degrade.?

Innovation is about seeing what is now possible.??Predicting system failures is not only possible, but also a reality. Imagine your car, server, network, mobile device or any other electronic system notifying you of a pending failure and taking action to extend the life of the system until a repair can be scheduled. Imagine a Siri like voice saying “John, I have detected a potential failure with a lane change sensor, would you like me to schedule an appointment to repair it?”?

The benefits are clear:

·???????You can avoid an unscheduled outage

·???????You know exactly what needs to be replaced?

·???????You know the root cause of the problem

·???????The right part is on hand resulting in only one service call

·???????Your customers are wowed, remain loyal and satisfied.?

With In-System Health Monitoring the proteanTecs platform enables you to be notified of a pending failure. Predictive failure analytics allow you to know in advance of a failure that degradation is occurring or the application is causing overstress. With artificial intelligence and machine learning you can take action to extend the life of your systems until you can have the part replaced. Our superpower is in our people. Our experts use a proven process with well-defined milestones to collaborate and work with your design team to ensure you reach the desired outcome.?
