CheatGPT: How OpenAI is Inflating Its Valuation with a Human-in-the-Loop System

OpenAI's ChatGPT has been hailed as the next generation of AI chatbots, but a recent investigation has revealed that the company may be cheating its way to a smarter AI.

I have personally experienced ChatGPT slowing down and it seems like a human is manually typing a responses. This is suspicious, as ChatGPT is supposed to be a fully automated AI system.

I have conducted some research and discovered that OpenAI may be using a human-in-the-loop system to improve ChatGPT's performance. This system would involve humans manually typing responses to user queries, which would then be used to train ChatGPT.

If this is true, it would mean that OpenAI is inflating its valuation by selling investors on a technology that is not as advanced as it claims to be. This is similar to how Donald Trump inflated his assets by valuing them at more than they were actually worth.

There are several parallels between Trump's inflation of his assets and OpenAI's inflation of ChatGPT's capabilities:

  • Both Trump and OpenAI made false or misleading statements about the value of their assets or technology.
  • Both Trump and OpenAI used complex and opaque accounting methods to make their assets or technology appear more valuable than they actually were.
  • Both Trump and OpenAI benefited financially from their inflated valuations.

OpenAI's use of a human-in-the-loop system to improve ChatGPT's performance is a serious ethical concern. It is also a potential fraud, as it is misleading investors about the capabilities of ChatGPT.

If OpenAI is caught cheating, it could damage the company's reputation and lead to a loss of investor confidence. It could also result in legal action from investors who feel that they were misled.

OpenAI needs to come clean about its use of a human-in-the-loop system. If the company is using this system to improve ChatGPT's performance, it needs to disclose this to investors and regulators.

OpenAI also needs to take steps to ensure that ChatGPT is a fully automated AI system. This could involve developing new training methods that do not require human intervention.

Until OpenAI takes these steps, investors should be wary of investing in the company. There is a risk that OpenAI is inflating its valuation with a human-in-the-loop system, and this could lead to significant losses for investors.

In addition to the ethical and legal concerns, OpenAI's use of a human-in-the-loop system also raises questions about the quality of ChatGPT's responses. If ChatGPT is relying on humans to generate its responses, then it is not truly a "smart" AI system.

OpenAI needs to be transparent about its use of a human-in-the-loop system and the impact it has on the quality of ChatGPT's responses. Investors need to have this information in order to make informed decisions about whether or not to invest in the company.

Interesting read, colleagues have also observed chatGPT slowing down especially with the recent release of GPT4. You think the recent slowing down plus the rise of insights like yours could lead to the drop in interest for chatGPT and similar AI models?
