Do you have that colleague, who over this whole lock down period has become the artist he never was. The likes and his followers on Instagram are just unending. I’m sorry, were you not the one who was always more creative than him. And what about that neighbour who speaks 5 languages while Malaysia is the only ‘foren’ country she’s been to (don’t YOU have over a dozen countries stamped in your passport).
How have they managed to ‘achieve’ so much. Curious? read on..
Well the simple answer is to stay committed. Day 0 is never glorious, but tell you what; its no secret that to get to day hundred, you have to go through all from 0 to past 99.
The challenge however is, how to stay committed. Well the answer is very simple, just keep on showing up.
It is really that simple.
All one needs to do is to show up and don’t bother about anything else. Don’t worry if you are not doing it right.
Most times the problem is that we expect a lot out of us. We don’t like our results on day 1 and then we give up. This is the fall.
Really, just come back again on day 2. And one thing for sure doesn’t matter how you do today, 'cos tomorrow you WILL do better. Only if you show up.
I always thought I could never stick to a commitment, and then I took this 28 day push up challenge. The outcome of the plan was to do 50 non-stop on day 28. TBH, I couldn’t do a nonstop 50, but then 33 is not a bad number either. All I did was – just show up each day for those 4 weeks.
PS. Many may disagree with this post, or may not bother to read or like it. Shouldn’t matter – this is week 5 of me posting an article every Sunday.
