ChatGPT vs Google Bard: a revolution for our lives ?

Have you ever wondered if your dream job is at risk of disappearing due to the rapid progress made by Artificial Intelligence ? Recently, I came across a thought-provoking Goldman Sachs report suggesting that "generative AI could expose the equivalent of 300 million full-time jobs to automation”, making me wonder about the potential impact on my own future?profession.
In my quest for understanding, I stumbled upon an intriguing competitor to the well-known ChatGPT: Google Bard, released in March 2023. These two chatbots differ significantly, first of all, in their training data sources: while Bard is trained on an "infiniset" of data, ChatGPT relies on a predefined set. Moreover, they vary in cost, coding and conversational learning. I was fascinated to discover that in this fierce technological competition, there is no clear-cut winner. Depending on the specific task at hand, one may outperform the other.
Keen to delve deeper into this comparison, I came across the enlightening article, “Google Bard vs ChatGPT: Which Is the Best AI Chatbot?” ?analyzing the responses of both chatbots across various abilities, from self-consciousness and ethical reasoning to creativity and planning. These are from my perspective crucial aspects that deserve our attention at the societal level.?
According to the main research on the field, the main asset of Bard with respect to its rival is the direct access to Internet, which allows it to provide users with the most updated information on the topic they require its assistance. ChatGPT, on the other hand, is trained on data that go until 2021. Bard presents also a higher ability to conduct small talk and light-hearted conversations, gives multiple answers to one query instead of just one and seems to be more practical while planning, for instance traveling journeys. However, when it comes to deliver an exercise of creativity or a summary of an article or an extract of it, ChatGTP seems to be more performing, showing a more original approach in the first task and?sticking more to the actual facts in the second.?
Given the great potential of this technology to completely revolutionize our lives, an informed and deep conversation about its regulation and the way it is going to be used in each dimension of our existence, from work to life advice, should be our most compelling priority.
