Is ChatGPT a signal of AI's dominion?

Can ChatGPT lead to machines dominating us? Is this a possibility or an idea far-fetched?

So, while the reports indicate that ChatGPT is highly intelligent, it is only moderately intelligent. There exist other tools which are just as bright as ChatGPT in related domains.

My friends in AI have plenty of similar programs that can manage grammar (Grammarly), create slides (beautiful.ai, designs.ai, presentations.ai) and answer inquiries of varying intricacy (expert.ai, super.ai), or transform the written text into video (pictory.ai, synthesia.io).

ChatGPT may be the best among them, but how intelligent is it? The use cases are identical: Utilizing queues, create a reply by gathering related data from a formerly developed, large-scale dataset of text that corresponds to the provided cues.

It is undeniable that what we can do with deep learning is astonishing. The capability of such technologies to increase productivity is evident. Although, years after the current AI craze began, this is yet to be realized.

The ongoing discussion on ChatGPT is similar to the success seen in the past with AI and gaming. It all began with chess and the notable Gary Kasparov incident. Then came Go!

Which had a much greater range of moves to take into account. More recently, we have seen StarCraft become headline news. It was the game that genuinely grabbed my attention.

StarCraft is unlike Go! or Chess. In both of those games, all the moves are well-known - they are visible to all. Of course, there are still a lot of combinations of movements throughout the game.

StarCraft also has various possible variants with multiple mixtures of moves, but not all of the actions in StarCraft are always visible. The "Fog of War" concept means that some moves take place outside the opponent's line of vision.

For AI and deep learning to excel at StarCraft, it must master capabilities different from those displayed in Chess and Go.

Could the emergence of ChatGPT potentially lead to a world where Artificial Intelligence reigns supreme? At the moment, it doesn't appear that way, but could it transpire in the future?

That's anyone's guess!
