ChatGPT is on the rise, but will it ever replace the need for in-house marketing?

The meteoric growth of ChatGPT has not gone unnoticed in marketing departments worldwide. Launched to the public in November 2022, ChatGPT has rapidly gained traction in the copywriting and marketing spheres as a way to generate content without having to think.

One of the few people who has never used it? In a nutshell, it’s a free (for now) webpage where you can type in any keywords, sentences, buzzwords or anything you need inspiration on, and an AI robot instantly writes whole paragraphs for you. It’s also available on Whatsapp, meaning instant copy-and-paste options to your social media platforms.?

It’s so big that it’s even started to worry some of the biggest tech bosses in the world. Microsoft decided only last week to integrate OpenAI (the parent company of ChatGPT) into their Bing search engine (although not without teething issues).?

Even Google CEO Sundar Pichai quickly developed a rival to ChatGPT in the form of Bard. The rushed release of Bard sparked many Google employees to comment on how hectic the launch felt and how many inaccuracies were picked up in the software.??

Sounds great right? For many people, including self-employed agents without in-house marketing support, ChatGPT is revolutionary software that will allow them to produce social media posts, short-form blogs, website content and much more in minutes. It does, however, have several drawbacks. As the saying goes, ‘if it’s too good to be true, it probably is’. Users have reported bias, incorrect dates and information, the ability to break the code using specific ‘tokens’ and the fact it cannot write in your company tone of voice.?

So will AI marketing stay? Everything points to yes. Whilst marketing is a multi-layered, strategy-driven, creative and complex field, there is undoubtedly space for AI. Companies developing marketing strategies for 2023 and beyond, need to look at how they work with AI, rather than against it.?

What are your thoughts on #chatgpt and its use in the workplace? Will it stay free forever?? #marketing #estateagent #property
