ChatGPT Part II: ChatGPT Plus Registration, Early Insights
It has been two months since I published my initial article introducing ChatGPT as a valuable tool for developers. During this time, I have been using it as my first-class tool and have come to appreciate its capabilities even more.
However, I did overlook one key issue in my previous article - the occasional lag in ChatGPT's performance. Despite this hindrance, I was still able to find ways to effectively use the tool and maximize my productivity.
Recently, OpenAI announced the release of their new subscription plan, ChatGPT Plus:
The new subscription plan, ChatGPT Plus, will be available for?$20/month, and subscribers will receive a number of?benefits: (1) General access to ChatGPT, even during peak?times (2) Faster response?times (3) Priority access to new features and?improvements.
The next phrase lowered my expectation a little, as I'm not a US Citizen:
ChatGPT Plus is available to customers in the United States, and we will begin the process of inviting people from our?waitlist?over the coming weeks. We plan to expand access and support to additional countries and regions?soon.
Determined to become a ChatGPT Plus member, I mentioned my American employer in the registration form and eagerly awaited the invitation. To my delight, after about a week, a button appeared in the sidebar inviting me to become a Plus member:
I quickly filled out the payment and billing form, and was thrilled to receive a confirmation message that I was now a ChatGPT Plus subscriber.

The payment and billing process was smooth and user-friendly, and I was soon greeted with the message confirming my upgrade to ChatGPT Plus:
I have only had a brief time to play around with the upgraded tool, but I can already attest to its improved performance with faster startup times and no longer will you be interrupted by endless captcha loops. Additionally, the upgraded tool also offers the option to select between two different models:
In fact, I used ChatGPT Plus to help me write this article and I was impressed with the response times. I felt less hesitant to ask multiple questions in a short without being kicked out.
For now, I have not noticed a significant difference in the quality of the results compared to before upgrading to ChatGPT Plus. However, I am confident that there is more to come, and as a Plus member, I will have early access to new features and improvements, making this tool even more valuable to me as a developer.
Conclusion
I am excited to continue exploring the capabilities of ChatGPT Plus and see how it can maximize my productivity. Stay tuned for more updates and insights on the field.
