ChatGPT is one example of what we can do with AI

I am regularly asked what artificial intelligence is and what are its uses?

I had an exchange just last week with my son who had just discovered ChatGPT.

I then replied that there were already many use cases of AI in our everyday lives and in companies.

I took the example of the recommendation engines of video or music streaming sites. Indeed, these sites have implemented AI for quite some time, that's how they make recommendations, relevant or not, but we will come back to that.

But it can also be found on your iPhone, especially for your photos. Apple uses it to group your photos or to be able to search by type (by person, by category - wines, dishes ...).

And these are just the first examples that come to mind.

A use already well developed in companies

But AI is also used in industry. I had the opportunity to work on this subject when I was at Microsoft, for Schneider in particular. In my opinion, Schneider is a company that is very advanced on this topic and has perfectly understood the interest, the challenges but also the difficulties of AI. For example, they appointed a VP AI. In my opinion, it is one of the first French companies to have done so. But this is not his only feat of arms. They also understood that AI only made sense if it brought real benefit to the business. So they started the work by identifying topics where AI could bring them value. On each of these cases, they are experienced and when they felt it was technically feasible and the value was real, they moved forward. They have also created a dedicated structure on the topic that included AI specialists but also people from the business. The 1st use cases are now in production, both for internal uses and for business solutions they offer to their customer.

Another interesting application area for AI is the automotive sector. Indeed, there is a lot of talk about autonomous vehicles but the subject is complex for car manufacturers. Indeed, to be able to launch such a vehicle, manufacturers will have to do tests. To obtain authorization to launch a vehicle, it must have traveled many hundreds of thousands of kilometers, or millions and this is the case for each model they want to launch. You can imagine that the costs are enormous. One way to get around this would be to rely on AI to simulate these kilometers, a very interesting solution that all car manufacturers are working on help by cloud solution providers.

In short, there are many examples and applications in industry and in all areas of business: in finance to optimize debt collection and analyze risks, in supply chain to optimize storage or deliveries, in production to do predictive maintenance...

So the future of AI is assured.

The only topic for companies: the volume of data they have at their disposal and its quality. Indeed, AI is obviously based on an analysis of existing data. The more we have, the more relevant the model will be. Because the strength of AI is to train a model and make it live over time.

What use for ChatGPT?

Now let's go back to ChatGPT the tech nugget that has been much talked about in recent weeks.

This solution allows you to write content based on information you give it. And the result is absolutely stunning. Ask him to write a poem in alexandrines on summer, a memoir on cryptocurrency, an essay on the philosophers of the Enlightenment, a summary on a known person... I'll let you judge the results.

But I think ChatGPT can also be very relevant in the business. I already see a lot of use: write articles for your blog or content for your website, write an email approaching a prospecting account, write sequence for your SDRs, write a speech, write a pitch, write your emails... And I think we're only at the beginning.

Once again, the more the model is solicited and trained, the more relevant it will be. So the future looks rosy for ChatGPT.

Will ChatGPT's scope be limited to content writing?

Who will prevent it from expanding its scope?

Could ChatGPT compete with Google on its search engine?

Time will tell.
