ChatGPT: Innovative or Going Back to Square One?
Using ChatGPT for Writing Resume and Cover Letter: Innovative or Going Back to Square One?
In the vast industry of communications and copywriting, where there is high demand for uniqueness, is utilizing ChatGPT for copywriting worth the efficiency if you become a needle in the haystack?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is undeniably innovative technology for the public to use and generate different types of content, including written texts such as resumes and cover letters. However, with every great invention, their shadow of limitations will always follow–and it’s no different with ChatGPT. The general limitations of ChatGPT are namely misinformation, may provide harmful instructions or biased components, and limited knowledge of current worldwide events. In addition, the main argument is how ChatGPT would create generic content.?
Users everywhere have been using ChatGPT to ease their tasks, including resume writing and preparing them for job interviews. Considering the rise of ChatGPT and the large number of users utilising the software, what makes a candidate stand out now? A study conducted over 1,000 job seekers found that 46% of them are utilizing ChatGPT to build resumes and cover letters. Of these, 78% did an interview with ChatGPT written materials to help them. Now, this can undeniably manifest doubt in recruiters regarding candidates’ authenticity and abilities.?How will know if someone is genuine and can actually deliver what they've said?
Recruiting manager at Zapier, Bonnie Dilber , says,
“ChatGPT can give you a great foundation, but you do need to provide it with guidance, and plan on taking it from 80% to 100% yourself.”
Though the advancement of technology is astonishing, there will always be limitations and the need for human correction and assistance. With all being said, there is no shame in using ChatGPT. But at the end of the day, whether or not you are using AI to generate your content and material, the challenge is how to create non-generic content in order to stand out, be credible and get recognised. Is this possible when everyone is using the same technology and asking the same questions?

1 年Such an interesting article and view on this! I like the tip on doing the last 20% yourself. ChatGPT can provide a great foundation, but you need add in your own touches otherwise you're going to sound the same as every other person who used ChatGPT to write for them. Nice work Dimas Irawan!
