ChatGPT And Human Resources

ChatGPT And Human Resources

ChatGPT is an ‘Artificial Intelligence Chatbot’ developed by OpenAI, a research laboratory that conducts research in the field of AI.

?The GPT stands for ‘Generative Pre-trained Transformer’, providing detailed answers to user queries. While the answers may not be factually correct every time, it provides in-depth explanations and can even remember what it said previously and correct itself if required.

Now there is no doubt that this is going to revolutionize the entire working environment of each and every company.

Microsoft has already enabled ChatGPT with Microsoft Teams which will make an user’s life simple by taking automatic notes and generating the minutes of the said meeting.

So, now the question stands as follows -

Does ChatGPT have any relevance for HR Professionals?

And if so, how will the role of an HR change in the upcoming days?

Since ChatGPT is a generic AI chatbot, it has multiple usages. Due to its interactive nature, it can easily provide excellent employee support. As a result, the chatbot can handle most employee queries, freeing the HR team from repeatedly answering the same questions.

ChatGPT can also function as an AI-based analysis tool, as it can make meaningful inferences from the employee database. It can identify the significant issues in a company and suggest practical solutions to enhance the engagement rate of the employees.

Deploying ChatGPT for query resolution also helps lower the cost, time and effort required to keep employees engaged. The AI chatbot can answer employee queries intelligently and provide solutions in no time. It can even provide valuable inferences that help improve the company’s efficiency.

Due to its versatile nature, ChatGPT can be used in various scenarios. Utilizing its potential, HRs can develop advanced custom employee engagement strategies tailored to the employees. Hence, ChatGPT can be used in several scenarios to aid the HR department in fulfilling its duties.

Honestly, the sky's the limit of our imagination, but here are some ways in which this AI Chat bu=ot can help HR professionals

  • ChatGPT can develop your entire recruiting strategy with very specific examples of inputs and outputs and can give you a step-by-step guide to follow.
  • ChapGPT can write HR policies for you.
  • ChapGPT can write job descriptions for you

The prize is clear for leaders though?

Use ChatGPT to liberate hours spent on simple tasks each week. Then divert this time towards high-impact skills more suited to human beings. Activities such as:

  • Asking curious questions
  • Communicating purpose, vision, strategy, and values
  • Supporting collaboration
  • Catalyzing learning
  • Encouraging creative thinking and innovation

The old cliché states leadership is a lonely place. For time-stressed managers, this AI means they have access to a free, confidential, and well-informed advisor. Over time, ChatGPT will evolve to support the work of functional departments such as HR, communications, and marketing. In the long run, it may spell the end of many executive assistant roles.

But here's the differentiation between ChatGPT and HR professionals: While HR professionals will no longer be needed as the creator of a work product, HR professionals will still be needed to narrate to ChatGPT what they want to create.

While we are still a few years away from the full-fledged application of ChatGPT for HR departments, the future seems bright for keeping employees engaged. Deploying a chatbot in a company enhances the HR department and the team’s overall efficiency.

It engages the employees effectively, ensuring loyal and dedicated staff who actively strive to guide the company towards success. Being one of the most advanced publicly accessible chatbots, OpenAI’s ChatGPT will be perfect for supporting the HR team in taking care of the employees.
