ChatGPT a Gamechanger or Just Hype ..It is somewhere in between
Artificial Intelligence has been around for some time, but in recent weeks, ChatGPT has sparked the imagination of many with its potential for creating new opportunities and attracting billions of dollars in investments. A colleague of mine recently mentioned that he knows someone who uses ChatGPT to code and it has greatly improved his productivity for past 6 months (or was it 6 weeks? ) ?? ?
On the hype scale, ChatGPT has all the key indicators of success, such as 100 million users, high visibility, and eager investors. Business leaders are writing tonnes of mostly positive insights. Apparently students are using it for their schoolwork and compose music, while the education world is developing apps to reduce AI usage or to coexist with it.
I was curious to see if ChatGPT could improve my productivity. So I spent Friday evening playing around and asked ChatGPT about 30 questions related to a typical workday. I compared ChatGPT responses to those found on other platforms like Google and application support portals.
Most of the questions were of low complexity and related to applications such as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management's FCCS and PBCS ?modules, SAP Concur Expense Management, and a few bolt-on applications like CreateForms and Transform AP.
ChatGPT's responses were conversational and not overwhelming, but only 4 responses out of the 30 questions were satisfactory. The rest were either too generic or incorrect, with a note to contact the system administrator for more information. I felt like I was chatting with a robot, similar to the customer support chatbots, which can be hit or miss, eventually leading to a human interface.
ChatGPT is just 8-week-old AI tool, it will be interesting to see how it matures especially when adopted by application vendors like Oracle, SAP and expose it to there datasets. Will it displace Google, just as Google displaced Yahoo? It's too early to make any predictions.
For now, ChatGPT and related AI tools will serve as additional tool, along with other resources like Google, Reddit, Stack Overflow, Quora, and application support portals.
Final thoughts: After documenting my observations, I asked ChatGPT to improve my notes and was impressed with the results. It outperformed auto correct and other free tools I've tried to paraphrase and check grammar. So yes, the presentation is largely improved if there is content in the writing. I am now a potential adopter of ChatGPT, making me one of over 100 million users.

2 年Just a launched example AI tool which has given a definition of this is how one could build a trained chatting tool with little bit of induced knowledge by human teams. AI can never replace natural intelligence… Just keep in mind that automated AI driven too not just automate functionality and processes but beware that they could also lead to uncontrolled & irreversible automated destruction. AI tools are just are like better pets but needs manual training and guidsnce.. they could also get against their owners depending on their breeds and aging factors..!!
