ChatGPT did my homework, and then I critiqued it

For more context, I will be asking ChatGPT to write me a blog post on the use of generative AI in digital marketing and you and I both can go through what it comes up with and decide if we like it or not. Ready? Here we goooo!

Prompt: Please write me a blog post about the use of generative AI in digital marketing and how you see it changing in the next 5 years

What ChatGPT Wrote: Generative AI is rapidly transforming the landscape of digital marketing, offering unparalleled opportunities for personalized, engaging, and targeted content creation. From dynamic product recommendations to hyper-personalized email campaigns, generative AI enables marketers to craft content that resonates with individual consumers on a profound level. By leveraging vast datasets and sophisticated algorithms, AI can analyze consumer behavior, preferences, and trends to generate content that is not only relevant but also anticipatory, predicting consumer needs before they even arise. This level of customization not only enhances user experience but also drives conversion rates, ultimately leading to increased ROI for businesses.

Looking ahead, the role of generative AI in digital marketing is poised to expand even further over the next five years. As AI technologies continue to evolve, we can expect to see advancements in natural language processing, image recognition, and even audio synthesis, enabling marketers to create multimedia content with unprecedented speed and precision. Additionally, the integration of AI with other emerging technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality will open up new avenues for immersive and interactive marketing experiences. Furthermore, as ethical considerations surrounding AI become increasingly prominent, we can anticipate the development of AI systems that prioritize user privacy and transparency, fostering trust between brands and consumers in an era of heightened data awareness.

My Experience With ChatGPT

I'm going to be honest this isn't my first time using ChatGPT, but this is the first time I've used it to do my homework. I took a MIS (Management Information Systems) class and the professor had us play around on the site and ask questions about the future and reflect back on what we thought. A fun little exercise to shed light on AI and how people might use it to do work or come up with ideas.

Here's What I Really Think!

You can tell off first glance that this was written from AI because it's using corny and over the top robotic words to describe very simple things. There's no creativity in the work that ChatGPT throws out and it's simply not for me. Just look back at how long the sentences are... Do you humans really speak/write like that?

I mean really, it's two giant unappealing paragraphs that don't really give specific examples of how generative AI is currently being utilized in digital marketing. I can go on and on about how weirdly written and organized ChatGPT's blog post was, but I'll be nicer and end there.

My Vision Of Digital Marketers Using AI

Okay, I'm done being a hater and I can tell you a nonbiased opinion. I think we can all agree that AI isn't going anywhere and everybody should be getting familiar. I think the main thing potential employees are afraid of is that "AI will take over my job and replace me" my stance on that is, no, people that know how to use AI will start to replace you and take over the job market.

AI is going to continue to improve and grow over the next say five years, it's up to us to adapt with the times. In a podcast by Plain English they discuss how AI is good at creating metaphors, such as "explaining fractional banking in terms a 5-year-old can understand". I think this is somewhat true, but also, think about how the middle man (you) and how you have to interpret what the AI has come up with and apply your knowledge to what it comes up with (and make sense of it).

If you're worried about falling behind, I did very short research on some trusted sites that offer free courses you can take to set yourself apart and expand your knowledge on AI??:
