ChatGPT is a chat bot, not a script bot

The key to addressing how to use/ mitigate/ enhance research with technology comes down to determining the differences and nuances in technology.
Technology ‘itself’ is neither good nor bad – what the effects are comes down to how it’s used. Specifically, in this case, we’ll consider the difference between “Script Bots” and “Chat Bots”.
Here are 5 points/ differences across the two:
Script / Automation Bots
1.?????Script bots are pre-programmed with specific, tailored responses.
2.?????These bots have limited functionality and can only provide predetermined responses.
3.?????Unlike smart bots, they lack learning capabilities, and cannot adapt to new situations.
4.?????They are cheap and low tech.
5.?????Script bots are useful for straightforward, repeatable tasks, providing basic information.
If you see repeated or very similar responses in surveys, they are likely cheaters/ fraudsters entering surveys, and then using script bots to enter answers.
On the other hand, Chat Bots:
1.?????Utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyze user input and generate appropriate responses.
2.?????Handle complex conversations, offer personalized recommendations.
3.?????Improve ‘themselves’ by adapting based on previous interactions with users and effectively responding.
4.?????Chat/ Smart are significantly more expensive than script bots, and need significant investments.
5.?????Smart bots also can handle intricate tasks, such as customer service, technical support, and have general conversations.
Script bots are pre-programmed with a specific use case in mind. They cannot functionally ‘learn’ or change. Smart bots leverage AI to adapt and perform a wide array of complex stats, but they cannot be programmed to take surveys.
In conclusion, Chat Bots can be used for fraud, but they usually entail either then further scripting the response or copy/pasting the responses over. They don't 'come to life' and start taking surveys.
