Today's topic is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to leveraging AI and ChatGPT for sales.?
But before we dive into the tactical aspects, let's take a moment to consider the future and how AI is reshaping it.
Over the past six weeks, I've spent a lot of time learning the implications of ChatGPT and its impact on our world. The integration of chat and AI across various industries, particularly in sales, is a game-changer.
Just think about the speed at which AI is taking hold and how it will inevitably affect your day-to-day operations (if it hasn't already). The urgency for leaders and frontline teams to embrace and harness AI is staggering.
Now, let's be clear: AI isn't perfect - it’s a shortcut. AI gets you 80% of the way there so that you can accomplish 80% or more of your work faster than ever before. The possibilities are astonishing.
This week, I’m sharing some of?my best ChatGPT prompts for sales. These prompts can help you unlock the power of AI in your sales process to take it to the next level - and they can be applied to any industry and topic.?
So, let's get into it. Don't miss out on the transformative advantages that AI can bring to your sales efforts.
“By no means am I saying that AI is perfect. What I am saying is, does it let you skip ahead? Can it get you 80% or more of the way faster? 1000%, yes."
Today’s session is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to AI and ChatGPT prompts for sales.
But before we get into the tactical, here’s what I want you to think about: The future – and how AI is changing it.?
Over the past six weeks or so, I’ve started to really understand the implications of ChatGPT and where our world is headed. And the impact of using chat and?AI in every industry, especially in sales.
Another thing to consider is how fast this trend will take hold and affect your day-to-day if it hasn’t already.
The speed at which leaders and frontline need to learn, implement, and use AI is ridiculous.?
ChatGPT prompts for sales is just the beginning, as I’ve said, but hopefully, these prompts (pun intended) will help you to start using this tool and taking AI in your sales process to the next level.
Recap: ChatGPT Prompts for SDRs, Sales, and Account Managers
I’m going to do this recap a little differently from the others. You can watch the recording for more context, but I know you’re here for the examples and steps, so that’s what I’m going to focus on.
?The important bits
How ChatGPT can get you up to speed as a seller
Imagine you (or a new employee) just started in a role and you knew nothing about the industry and the leaders you need to get in front of. There is no better way to get up to speed and create customized content around buyer pains than with ChatGPT.
PROMPT 1
“I sell into HR leaders in manufacturing, a software that costs about 50K per year, and is used by compensation experts to save them time. What issues could I highlight in an email that might make them want to meet?”
The quality of the prompt will determine the quality of the output. For example, in this first prompt, I was specific about the?industry, the?cost, and the?who.??
PROMPT 2?
“For point one, tell me why this is such an issue for HR leaders?”
ChatGPT is not just a search engine on steroids. Each thread is a new learning set that you can continuously build on. Prompt 1 outputted several issues at a high level, but your goal is to learn, so you need to go deeper.
PROMPT 3
“Which of these would have the biggest impact on company performance?”
How ChatGPT can help you to have better conversations
Prompts 1-3 can be used to get an SDR up to speed and create better outbound sequences. There is absolutely no excuse right now not to send personalized content, or at least industry and persona content.
AEs can also use the sequence of prompts in the last section and continue to take it further. For example:
Prompt 4
“I had a first meeting with someone where point number 1 around helping with turnover was the most important piece. What should my next step be if they need to loop in finance for a demo?”?
Prompt 5
“What areas of my product should I specifically customize to the CFO in the demo?
Think about the average demo and how much better this already is at gearing the conversation toward specific people and roles.?

Now it’s your turn. Take the prompts below, personalize them to your company and who you sell to, and see what happens.

AI gets you 80% of the way there
As we wrap up, I am not saying that AI is perfect. What I am saying is that it will let you skip ahead. It can get you 80% or more of the way there, faster, by three to four months.?
You may not know all the nuances to ask, and neither will ChatGPT, but it’s exponentially better than starting from scratch.
What I was able to pull out in just 5 minutes in the live session, you can do with any other industry and topic. But remember that you have to continue to train each thread on your own nuances and business.
