ChatGPT is About to Change Your Business. Best be prepared!

I've had some great conversations over the last twelve months with Alexa and Siri.?I get useful feedback as to the temperature outside and a nudge when we all think my meal is cooked.?

But I've found a new best friend. ChatGPT and wow, the conversations are far more interesting. For business and for personal advice. The other day, I even wrote a story for my grandchildren and then turned it into a play. The next stage is to submit the storyline to Netflix.?

And don't we all agree that Storytelling in business is so useful? Aren't blogs a story? Isn't this a story meant to engage?

You know how much work it is to come up with new, interesting blog ideas every week. But what if I told you there's a tool that can help you with that? I'm talking about ChatGPT. You must have heard someone mention it although it's easy to confuse it with those annoying little bots that pop up on a website far too quickly.

Anyway, if you have not already heard, ChatGPT is an AI language model from OpenAI that can help you generate text based on your specific focus. Whether you need inspiration for a new blog post, help with writing, or just want to produce a lot of content in a short amount of time, I've already found ChatGPT to be a lifesaver.

One of the best things about using ChatGPT is that it saves me a ton of time. By generating content quickly and easily, I can get past 'writer's block'. And because it's powered by AI, the content it creates is always high-quality and unique but still open to personal inputs.?

But what about Google penalties? Naturally, I'm cautious, but perhaps not quite as worried as Google are about the integration of ChatGPT with Bing. Watch this space.?Google's Steve Jobs-type launch of their new service was more like Bob-a-Job but that's another story.

I am learning that if you use ChatGPT the right way, there's nothing to worry about.? Here's how I make sure my content stays original and high-quality:

1 Write for People and not Search Engines: Of course, it's important to think about SEO, but it's even more important to write content that's interesting and helpful for my audience. I avoid using keywords in a way that seems unnatural or low-quality.

2 Use Your Own Words: ChatGPT can be trained to write in a specific style, but it's important to make sure the language it generates is original. I encourage it to use its own words and phrases instead of repeating what others have said.

3 Quality Beats Quantity: The most important thing is that the content is good, not how much of it there is. I make sure the content ChatGPT generates is detailed and informative, not just a bunch of fluff and nonsense.

4 It is important to check for Plagiarism: Before I post anything, I run it through a plagiarism checker to make sure it's totally original. When I was new to ChatGPT I thought I could just copy and paste what seemed to me to be perfectly readable content. Not so fast. When I ran it through a plagiarism checker it failed miserably. Back to the drawing board.?

You and I want our content to be high-quality and original. We want to avoid penalties from Google.

I've also come to realise that the quality of output is dependent upon the questions you use and I'm using prompts that have completely transformed my content. If you're using ChatGPT and would like to see if these intelligent prompts could be useful to you, PM me or drop the word PROMPT in the comment block.

In today's Times Newspaper, there's a telling article about the future of AI and yes, it's here. A chatbot named Harvey is helping hundreds of lawyers at Allen & Overy to draft contracts and write memos to clients, the firm has announced as the legal sector explores new ways to boost productivity using artificial intelligence. “You can ask it a question like ‘tell me what the English law on penalty clauses on contracts is’, and it will summarise the legislation. Or you can say ‘draft a cross-default provision for an English law contract’ and it will draw up a pretty reasonable provision.” He added: “You type in your question and it will generate something in less than 30 seconds, which a lawyer will then check and normally improve.” I rest my case, M'lord.

Disaster looms. Paul Clegg your business will be at risk when business owners start to use ChatGPT instead of employing people. The good news is I think it will die in a sea of vanilla!
