Chatgpt and AI what's it about?

Digital tools are one way to increase efficiencies. The downside can be it takes time to learn new features and in our busy lives this can be difficult. However sometime ago I made a promise to set time aside on regular basis to learn more about new ideas and concepts.

Recently I began looking into Artificial Intelligence (AI) and more particularly #chatgpt from #openai . Once you register on their website, see link below, you get the opportunity to try it out. There is lots of information to explain the concepts, what is does well, and what it doesn't do or can't do.

It can help with many things including:

• Text Completion
• Image Generation
• Computer Code

I would advise anyone to try it out, even if you're not a techie, if for no other reason so as to be aware of the concepts, so when (not if) AI comes up in work conversations (and it will I've no doubt) you'll have an understanding and perhaps think of uses for its services.

As I've researched I've being trying to imagine practical areas it can help with and here is one I came across, learning new functions from Microsoft Excel.

I believe I have a good understanding of Excel but for years I felt there is additional functionality I wasn't using, as I didn't have the time to learn. You can use the help menu in Excel but I don't find it that user friendly. An easier way is to have chatgpt help you. I came across this video which describes in a practically way how it can help.

My initial conclusion is we will see considerable up take of this technology in many different areas such as business systems, academic research, creating marketing text, correcting computer code, artwork etc .... If you don't believe me just ask chatgpt and see what it replies. It will run in the background of digital services, many of which haven't been thought of yet.
