ChatGPT Accounts Hacked, Data Of Over 1 Lakh Compromised

It’s claimed by Group-IB, which revealed: “The data of around one lack individuals was compromised after their ChatGPT accounts were hacked.”

This news comes as a shock to millions of users already using ChatGPT across the world to create interestingly engaging and useful content for their potential users as well as for awareness basis.

After its launch, ChatGPT turned out to be a revolutionary artificial intelligence tool that evoked conservations around the future of technology. Group-IB, a leading cyber-technology company based in Singapore claimed that they have identified more than one lack stealer-infected device in which ChatGPT credentials were saved. The top countries that were impacted due to this attack were India (12,632), Pakistan (9,217), Brazil (6,531), Vietnam (4,771), United States (2,995), France (2,923), and Morocco (2,647).

It is suspected that the stolen data of ChatGPT users is already sold on the dark web marketplaces with the most number of accounts traded coming from the Asia-Pacific region. ChatGPT stores and remembers activity history by default and it is used for various purposes, including software codes, business works, and more. This is the reason that the account activity of these accounts was exposed to these cyber hackers, which also included sensitive and confidential details. The same information can be used for cyberattacks in the future on concerned companies and individuals.
