ChatGPT-4o: The Exciting and Scary Frontier of GenAI ??
With this week's ChatGPT-4o announcement I couldn’t resist sharing my thoughts on the topic. As someone who's been knee-deep in B2B tech for years, I've seen a lot of advancements come and go, from the .com boom to the cloud, but in my opinion ChatGPT-4o is up there with the best of them. It's both exhilarating and a little terrifying, and as leaders in the tech industry, we’ve got a front-row seat to this rollercoaster.
What Makes ChatGPT-4o Exciting?
First, let's dive into the exciting bits. ChatGPT-4o is a big step up from its predecessors. This model boasts some seriously cool features that in my opinion are game-changers for GenAI:
But let's not get carried away with all the excitement without addressing the elephant in the room. With great power comes great responsibility, and ChatGPT-4o is no exception.
The Scarier Side of ChatGPT-4o
As exciting as all of this is, there is a scarier side to ChapGPT-4o and no amount of Silicon Valley “happy smiley” demos can remove my concerns. Here are a few reasons why I think as technology leaders we need to tread carefully:

The Path Forward
So, what’s the solution? Regulation and collaboration. Governments and tech companies must come together quickly to set global standards and guidelines for AI development and deployment. We need robust frameworks that can keep up with the pace of change to ensure AI is used ethically and safely.

At Haiilo I think we have two opportunities to use GenAI.?
In Conclusion
In conclusion, ChatGPT-4o is a thrilling advancement in GenAI and from a pure technology point of view it is very exciting. I can’t wait to start adding more GenAI features to the Haiilo platform. However, I think it's crucial that we approach the ever quickening pace of AI with caution by combining innovation with responsibility and harnessing its potential while mitigating the risks.?
Let's embrace the future, but let's do it wisely. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below ??
For me as corporate content creator, having GenAI in the intranet platform studio is nice but not a priority - I rather create my content on an AI platform with company-wide data access and then use the generated content on the intranet. The reverse issue is much more crucial: My company-wide AI platform needs access to all intranet data, too, because many users will create content there that is not available anywhere else, plus it‘s highly relevant data for Internal Comms. That‘s also what I think is behind Daniel Robinson‘s question: How quickly can we expect Haiilo platform content to be available to our corporate MS Copilot for 365 instance, which we just rolled out as a workplace standard to all our 7,000 employees? Colleagues already noticed that our vast intranet data unfortunately is not yet available for usage in Copilot. Making stand-alone intranet content available to company-wide AI platforms is likely becoming one of the most pressing topics for any vendor of such a platform, followed by tools to ensure platform content is of good quality and up-to-date, in order to mitigate the garbage-in/garbage-out issue of AI. The latter obviously holds for all data sources within a company including SharePoint itself.

4 个月Great news indeed! I love this competition, unfortunately Apple’s response wasn’t very convincing for me. AI would work really well if it knew all the company data, but that’s tough to achieve. And hosting custom models on private clouds is another big challenge. Sorry if this sounds boring, but I’m still very positive about the future! ??
