Joe Perkins, the founder of a startup that builds tools to help VCs called Landscape, wrote a Tweet that went viral following GPT-4’s release that said “Last night I used GPT-4 to write code for 5 micro services for a new product. A (very good) dev quoted ￡5k and 2 weeks. GPT-4 delivered the same in 3 hours, for $0.11 Genuinely mind boggling”.?

It sounds like bad news, but only for novice programmers so far. Because one should not confuse writing a script to solve one simple task with programming a huge system with hundreds of dependencies and lined architecture.

Chat GPT cannot write an application on its own, simply described in words, but if you give it the tips and specific characteristics, it can make a good skeleton (framework) software.?

In general, IT is an applied thing, it is something that was made to facilitate work in other professions. The programmer creates programs for someone who needs to facilitate activities, who needs to get rid of routine, to make it faster, more efficient. Accordingly, AI, including Chat GPT, is created to make our work easier and more efficient. It's a productivity tool, much like low-code and no-code platforms, that can help organizations build and modernize applications. But developers are still crucial to create relevant experiences because AI lacks the ability to understand the human context of computing and make large-scale decisions unique to different areas of business. Additionally, there are many other parts of the job that AI can't do yet, such as meetings with business partners, executives, negotiations, and brainstorming sessions.

This technology has the potential to revolutionize software development, allowing developers to create complex applications with relative ease. However, there are still many questions surrounding the potential of Chat GPT. For instance, is this technology reliable enough to be used for creating high-quality, production-level applications? We think that in future a “new class of programmers” will emerge, with their primary role being to tune the context and undertake network training. .
