However, I wanted the second element of the brand name, “STUDIO”, to be in a second typeface — a sans serif typeface from the Art Déco design tradition that, though entirely different, would pair well with the first one. Jonesy provided me with a number of suggestions. Once the choice for typefaces had been nailed down, I asked Jonesy what thoughts he had regarding the placement and alignment of the text elements in relation to the graphic and to each other. He returned plenty of well-informed considerations and suggestions. He's a wiz, that one, and I learned a lot in the process. We worked for a couple of hours.
