Academia should make more effort to help students mend the gap between theory and application.  Countless great idea die in the unforgiving chasm-managers are caught in the deadly freeze of being judged complex, slow and foolish.  Hence, they go for rule of thumbs, looking nice on power points but deadly in safeguarding against the threats looming the business arena.
