Introducing this week’s Charlotte House of the Week, #123, situated in the heart of downtown Dilworth on Euclid, is a delightful red bungalow of 3590 square feet of living space with urban convenience. Build from the ground up and centrally located, the residence offers easy access to South Blvd, a plethora of restaurants, shops, and bars, creating a vibrant city living experience. From the moment we pulled up in front of the house the neighborhood comes to life.? We watched residents were out walking their dogs and others engaging in friendly chats with neighbors. It showed Dilworth at its finest and demonstrated the neighborhood feel and charm didn’t disapear with being in downtown Charlotte.
Warmly welcomed by a spacious front elevated porch you are greeted by two entry points. One to the front of the home and another to the dinning room separate from the porch. Upon entering the main entrance, the open floor plan captivates, leading the gaze straight to the inviting dining room. And thats the fun part of touring a home is gravitating to what intrigues you and appeals to you. As the space is set up this dinning room is the main eating area so its designed to be used. With all the natural light coming in the windows I enjoyed the room from different vantage points. But stopped to appreciate the light fixture and focused on that for one of my reals simply as it drew me in. Positioned alongside the kitchen, this space feels purposeful, beckoning residents to enjoy many memorable meals. The carefully chosen walls, colors, floors, and the captivating chandelier contribute to the warm and inviting ambiance.
The main floor hosts the primary bedroom, responding to the growing preference for this arrangement. Moving beyond the bedroom, attention is drawn to the primary bathroom’s layout, with its appealing tiles, vanity, and a surprising discovery—a discreet door leading to a laundry room to use as a passthrough for laundry so you do not have to walk around, an innovative and practical addition. There is also a room upstairs that could also be used as second primary bedroom. So there are options and flexibility in how the owner wishes to use the space to their best advantage. Because of the cute little door off the bathroom I ventured? off to the laundry room to see the space it opens to. Right off the garage entrance unfolds into a well-lit mudroom, complete with doors to the laundry room and drop zone.? All seamlessly connects from one space to another. Going from the drop zone to a a desk in the kitchen, the refrigerator columns and a gas stove fit for a chef across from a long island with a beverage refrigerator at the end. With plenty of room for barstools to sit at the island with a cup of coffee. Which then leads into the main living area, with a gorgeous fireplace to center the living space around. But left open to flow out onto a large front porch through three glass doors that only enhances functionality. Everything is thoughtfully planned out. I really am a good sucker for a floor-plan that flows effortlessly.
Transitioning to the second floor, the thoughtfully chosen floors and colors continue to impress. The expansive hallway welcomes, leading to a surprising rooftop terrace that overlooks towering trees and a private partially fenced backyard, catering to those who seek both entertainment and tranquility. This expansive outdoor living space has endless possibilities. Imagine hosting lively gatherings with a comfortable seating area or even setting up an outdoor kitchen for culinary adventures. For my husband this would mean making home pizzas and margaritas so I know he fell in love with the space but for different reasons I did. While he was envisioning the entertaining and the making versatile space also invites the opportunity for container gardening, whether it’s a vibrant vegetables or flowers and plants. I envisioned quiet warm afternoons working from home on this back deck and reading a book and yes keeping the evening Margaritas. Your only limit here is the boundless expanse of your imagination. And back indoors there is an upstairs scullery that only enhances the space.
Going back into the home and the wide spacious hallwayI went all the way to the front of the home to a bonus room/bedroom with double doors opening to another porch, providing city views and a discreet sanctuary for privacy seekers as you could easily but two chairs to sit down on and I don’t believe anyone would see you from below. Its worth mentioning all the rooms and full bathrooms are tremendously spacious.? Connecting to a jack and jill bath, with a large storage space/closet off the bath this large bedroom can serve various purposes and the bath connects to yet another bathroom. Across the hall I walked into another gigantic bedroom and nearly fell over when I walked into the bathroom as it was huge. Unwittingly I had walked into the 2nd primary bedroom and bath. Giving the option for multi-generational families giving. Because of the lot and houses position from the street the home’s? square feet offer more than meets the eye, with every room generously sized and meticulously designed. This adorable red bungalow is priced at $1,950,000 and listed by Michael Baker at Corcoran HM Properties, this residence showcases a blend of urban luxury, thoughtful details, and unexpected spaciousness that pleasantly defies expectations.
