Have you ever talked with someone about the weather? Its a topic that everyone cares about and everyone has something to say about. The weather effects your planning for the day and it also impacts where people live and move. I ask Alexa daily,”Alexa whats today’s weather? I ask so often that sometimes I forget to listen and have to ask Alexa for today’s weather again. Its pretty amazing that we have such easy access to technology and can get updates instantly on the weather for the day and even that exact moment in time. And the weather in the Carolinas makes outdoor living pretty comfortable year round. The average temperature for May is a high of 80 and low of 57. Typically the Carolinas have mild winters and warm summers. This past winter there was no snow at all in the Charlotte metro area. Having a mild winter and warmer weather means your not stuck inside the house or indoors all day. We used to joke that we didn’t see our neighbors for 6 months out of the year as it was too cold. You just put your head down and booked it. Here in the Carolinas there are a lot more opportunities to be out and about enjoying the weather pretty much year round.

Most neighborhoods like Walnut Creek have built amenities for owners to enjoy in their neighborhood together. In fact there doesn’t appear to be any shortage of activities to enjoy on a nice sunny afternoon. From the clubhouse and the 2 large swimming pools with splash pads and each with beach entry/zero entry pools.?Everywhere you look someone is out getting their daily steps in with a walk on the many miles of sidewalks. Some with their family and friends and some with their dogs. And some are out on the quiet and secluded?walking trails enjoying the feel of being away from everything and almost feeling like they are in the middle of nowhere. One of the trails we have walked is the 12 Mile Creek Trail that has a 3.5 mile trail in Walnut Creek that then connects to Twelve Mile Creek Greenway in Waxhaw, N.C. After crossing over the Twelve Mile Creek suspension bridge, the trail turns into Twelve Mile Creek Greenway in Waxhaw, NC. This 0.7-mile natural surface trail twists and turns before opening up on Millbridge Parkway within the Millbridge subdivision all the way to Nesbit park. Something that is unique for this weeks House of the week is that it backs up to the Twelve Mile Creek trail.?Where one can literally walk out of a gate from your fenced in backyard and hop on a trail to go for a walk. Not only does it have a nice fenced in yard, it as tons of trees to enjoy adding additional privacy. Being backed up to trees and a walking trail you don’t have to worry about another home developed behind your property.
This weeks house of the week is 1147 Mantell Rd In Lancaster SC 29720 listed by Mandy Patterson at Carolina Sky Real Estate Group and is listed for $614,900.0. Pulling up the house the home feels inviting and welcoming.?There is a Front porch with plenty of space to sit comfortably, and a porch is a must here! The home home is located just off a cul-de-sac and sits in a quiet little section of Walnut Creek. There is a bonus to this as there isn’t a lot of through traffic here.?This Eastwood home model is called the Drexel with 3,111 sq feet of living space 5 bedrooms and 3 and a 1/2 baths. There is a lot of space in this home to enjoy, not to mention a 3 car garage! Which is great for those who are car lovers and need a 3rd bay for that classic car. Or that workshop, or a garage gym, or just for storage and still have room to park cars in the garage. I can see the garage being where the owners use as their main point of entrance.?Coming home and placing their coats and shoes in the drop zone and moving on into the kitchen. We of course entered the home from the front door taking in our first view of the homes interior.?There is a home office to the right and the first detail I noticed were the transom window over the office doors. Which I am a big fan as they allow more natural light to come into the hallway. Next to the office is a large open Dinning Room with a Bay Window and a half wall with wainscoting that helps separate and define the space as well as keep an open floor plan to the Family room, and the Kitchen. The Kitchen has beautiful quartz countertops, and a gas range and wall oven. Off the kitchen and tucked under the stairs is a nice walk in pantry (which I almost missed as I was distracted by the drop zone and 3 car garage). Being a big fan of pantry’s and having an extra large one is a win in my book!
Upstairs there is a large bonus/second family room that is surrounded by 4 bedrooms all of which are a good size.?There is something to be said having this upstairs bonus room and/or family room. There are so many uses for having this extra space right next to the bedrooms around it. Almost like having a sitting room for everyone to enjoy. And tucked away to the side is?the Primary bedroom with a 2 doors entryway that keeps the large space feeling open and inviting. There is the large primary bathroom and the attached walk in closet. Coming back out into the extra bonus room if your not looking closely you might miss that this home is actually 3 stories! Surprise!?Tucked upstairs is another bathroom and there is a door at the top of the stairs making this space multifunctional. It could be a bonus room or a bedroom, a movie room or a man cave or even another office. Having a good flex space is a big bonus as each family can use the space in a different ways to best fit their needs.
There is so much to see and explore that it’s imposable to cover it all. Sometimes its best if you can to come out and explore in person. Give us a call to set up a time to tour this lovely home and explore the neighborhood.?I have pictures and video up on all the Social Media Platforms-so pick which one you prefer to use to help give a a view of the home and the neighborhood so you can see the lifestyle Walnut Creek has to offer. I’ve the QR codes below for Instagram and TicTok located below for you to be able to click on to see. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.
