Charlie House Charity Donation

Over the past couple of years, ASA Employees across our Scotland Offices; Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Kirkcaldy - have been hosting social events (pre-covid), Christmas jumper days, and Dress-down days. Participation and donations were fully appreciated across the whole board of Employees. It was an amazing effort by the ASA Team, raising over ￡1650. On Wednesday, 12th January 2022, Charlie House Charity was selected to be the choice of charity to send forth our donations.

Charlie House was established in 2011 by local Mother, Tracy Johnstone. A Mother who had experienced and battled through unfortunate pregnancy situations. Tracy's children develop severe disabilities and multiple complex needs. Tracy and her family struggled to find the necessary Support Facilities nearby, travelling almost 100 miles to find the closest appropriate Support Facilities! Following her experience of being unable to find Support Facilities in the North-East, Tracy took action to make a difference. Starting to meet with local families, brainstorming ideas for the Charity.

C - Children, Caring. H - Happy. A - Aberdeen. R - Relaxation, Rest, Resources. L - Listening, Living. I - Inclusive, Inspiring, Information. E - Everyone, Experiences. CHARLIE. "A place where all of the children that need support could enjoy family time together, without all the tensions of medical intervention, where they could have fun and laughter together, and where they could be mum, dad, brother and sister instead of nurse, carer or physiotherapist." - House, A place for a family. Their aim - to provide support to babies, children and young people that have life-limiting conditions and their families.

Through Charlie House's amazing work ethic and determination to provide support to those that need it across the North East of Scotland. They are truly making a difference. Additionally, Charlie House has confirmed that ASA's donation has already been put to use!
