Charleston In Between: Hot topics and late-breaking developments in libraries and publishing
May is fast approaching, marking the official halfway point between the 2021 and 2022 Charleston Conferences. As has become the tradition, the Charleston Hub will host the Charleston “In Between” conference to tackle those hot topics and late-breaking developments that just can’t wait until November for discussion.
?This year’s In Between will be a 2-day virtual event covering a variety of topics from the?Clarivate/ProQuest?acquisition to content and discovery. There will also be a special session on the?Ukraine Conflict?and its impact on research, scholarship, and education.
This particular discussion will leave the audience reflecting on how world events can affect the kind of academic activities society relies on and takes for granted.
“We are looking forward to this fantastic opportunity to gather virtually and discuss the latest updates and important topics in the library and publishing industries,” says?Leah Hinds, Executive Director of the Charleston Hub. “Last year’s inaugural Charleston In Between set the stage for this new annual tradition to continue these crucial conversations throughout the year.”
Each day will also feature opportunities for networking, deeper discussion, and vendor resources. Participants will also receive a Starbucks gift card to enjoy during the conference coffee break. There are some slots still available for info sessions for vendors interested in presenting on day two.
The Charleston In Between Conference will take place?Wednesday, May 11 through Thursday, May 12?on Zoom. The sessions will be recorded and sent to registered attendees after the event to view on demand.?
Group rates are available. There are also special rates for low to lower middle income countries.
