Charity Support: Morrisons Foundation Grant Giving Explained

Foundation Objectives

The Morrisons Foundation is committed to fully funding projects that align with its three grant funding objectives:

1. Tackling Poverty and Social Deprivation:Initiatives that address the root causes of poverty and work towards alleviating social deprivation.
2. Enhancing Community Spaces, Facilities, and Services:Projects that contribute to the improvement and enrichment of community spaces, facilities, and services.
3. Improving Health and Wellbeing:Support for programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall health and wellbeing of communities.

Eligibility Criteria

The foundation welcomes applications from registered charities meeting certain criteria:

• Charities registered with the Charity Commission and/or OSCR.
• Grant requests for projects fully funded, with emphasis on amounts up to ￡10,000 to assist as many charities as possible.

Considerations and Limitations

While the Morrisons Foundation actively supports a range of charities, there are some considerations and limitations to keep in mind:

• Exclusions: The foundation does not consider applications from organisations that are not registered charities, CICs, or those with exempt charitable status. Additionally, requests for running costs, salaries, marketing, or sponsorship are not eligible.
• Geographical Focus: Applications are prioritised for charities with an income of ￡1 million p.a. or less, although larger charities are still considered.
• Application Process: Applications are accepted on a continual basis, with no specific deadline. The review process takes up to eight weeks, and outcomes are communicated via email.
• Limited Availability: Due to a high volume of applications, the foundation is currently only able to support around 10% of requests meeting its criteria. Each application, however, is carefully considered.
