Charity Support from Back 2 Front this December
Christmas is a fantastic time of the year in the Cann household, watching Neala and Charlie get excited throughout the month – as the elves from the Shelf get themselves into mischief.
Having less and less of a lie-in, as the kids both bounce into our bedroom early doors, to tell us all about the Elves' latest adventure.
Although, this year's Christmas shining star has been very much dominated by the kindness shown within our office and our Chefs who are work for us.
There have been several charitable causes run throughout December, which has bought a genuine tear to my eye.
First up, our office secret Santa present was swapped, donating a gift to a child less fortunate, by choosing a label of a child who has suffered domestic abuse, and giving them a little bit of joy over the Christmas period.
You can find out more about the charity here https://nextlinkhousing.co.uk/
The Chefs got involved with our reverse Advent Calendar for https://www.julianhouse.org.uk/ where we saw many of our Chefs drop into the office, donating over 100 food items to help less fortunate adults in Bath have something to eat this Christmas, It really was great to see our Chefs get involved and support this charity.
On the same line as feeding the less fortunate, the office donated fresh food bags for the Keynsham foodbank, including a very kind donation from St Monicas Trust (100 mince pies) Chloe has been a big influence over the last few years at the foodbank. This year helping families eat fresh food over Christmas and New Year. https://keynsham.foodbank.org.uk/
Finally, our affiliation with https://www.feedingbristol.org/ carried on from the summer, with this December seeing Etienne (one of our Chefs) donating his time to cook a meal for 120 people for one of Bristol Children’s Centres – Receiving a round of applause for all of his efforts throughout the day.
All of these things have really sparked something deep within my soul, and I really am looking forward to a new driver within our business in 2020. Utilising our skills and contacts to make a difference within the communities that we work in.
Have a fantastic Christmas, and remember, a little bit can make a BIG difference!
