Charity during the Lockdown UK

Today, I was asked about charity, and questions were raised about how much is enough?
It is a difficult question to answer because it is so personal, and it is not right to judge anyone, I have heard of celebrities being criticised for not giving enough, often by people that don’t give at all.
The simple fact is some people don’t give, sometimes via choice, and others because they cannot afford too. Both are acceptable, some that can not afford to give money, give time and that is just as valuable.
Others give consistently, but adhere to Matthew 6:3 (King James Version): But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth. ..
My Dad, Bill, always quoted “That one could not pour from an empty jug” and that is right a person should and always make sure their family is secure and there is food on their table
My Pop, however, said, “That one should give away the cream because the milk will sustain you, but occasionally treat yourself, and give yourself the cream, because you deserve the pleasure of that too.”
No one should be compelled to give but again the Bible says in Matthew 22:21 Jesus said "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's and whether you believe in God or not, it is a good adage to live by, to pay your taxes as due.
Where I find it hypocritical is where people and organisations actively evade paying their fair share of taxes, then pick and choose what charities to support, seeking publicity for their good deeds.
During this #COVID19 lockdown, many charitable events have been put on hold but the various charities work continues and are being called upon even more so if you do have a ￡1 or ￡10 to spare, and you want to do good then both
