Last month, SITE Scotland: Society for Incentive Travel Excellence members gathered at one of Scotland's most iconic landmarks, the Forth Rail Bridge, for an event that combined charitable action with heart-racing excitement.

Organised by Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland , SITE Scotland members bravely participated in the 165ft charity abseil to support and raise funds for Cyrenians , official SITE charity partner for 2024.

Representing SITE Scotland were Elizabeth Del Giacco , Iain Rowan , Fiona Pengelly , Sarah-Jane Anderson , Paul Geica and Kate Galloway CIS . Our fearless SITE team were joined by two of the Cyrenians team, CEO Ewan Aitken and Senior Finance Manager Rachel Evans . Their involvement in the abseil underscored the organisation's commitment to overcoming obstacles and encouraging empowerment. The participants were united by a common goal: to raise awareness for Cyrenians and their impactful work.

Cyrenians, known for tackling the causes and consequences of homelessness, provide not only shelter but also support services such as education, employment training and mental health resources. The funds raised from the abseil will directly support these initiatives.? SITE Scotland were thrilled to exceed their fundraising target of £1000, and overall the day raised £8500 for the charity.

Kate Galloway from K&N Travel Associates, a SITE Scotland member, shared her experience: “Cyrenians is such a good cause. It was an amazing feeling to touch down again on the ground and I felt a great sense of achievement in having challenged myself to do it. Our SITE team spirit was evident throughout, keeping each other motivated with uplifting chat and jokes until it was time to go over the top.? A huge thank you to everyone who donated.”
