Charitable Donations without Breaking the Bank

Its often said that charity starts at home and with the nation looking at uncertain times there could be a reluctance for business owners and finance directors to part with their hard earned cash and pull back on CSR programs or charitable donations.
The Facts and Figures of the charity sector are huge , with a total income of £48 billion of which approx half comes from donations in the business sector ....... but what happens when a recession hits , AND how can we improve donations without impeding business?
Firstly the Charities Aid Foundation found that after the 2008 financial crash the charity sector saw a decline of 11% on donations ....... at current levels that could mean a 'hit' on the sector of about £5 billion , which would affect the lives of many real people.
Secondly - how can we improve this? Well most businesses have an asset that goes to waste every day and could transform the fortunes of charities and the good causes they support ...... the asset we are talking about is SPARE CAPACITY - which most businesses have in the form of empty hotel rooms / restaurant tables, excess stock or idle inventory, unsold media space or event tickets , under worked staff or idle machinery ...... in fact if a business can handle more customers within its normal working day then it has spare capacity!
Billions of pounds each year goes to waste in the form of spare capacity and could be DONATED TO CHARITY by using the BBX business exchange as a conduit.
