Phew, it's been a year!!

Lol, that's how much has happened in just a quarter here at Chargebee!

Yep, ????still the same guy talking to you. Just using lesser hashtags now. ??

Oh well, it's been a quarter and I figured it's time to butter up all the folks at work. ??

On the 5th of August 2019, there was this guy walking into the office with so many hopes and dreams and boy was he in for a ride. ??

Now you're probably thinking that's more than a quarter. I'm talking about post-ramp and all that. Don't get too technical, just read and live it with me! ??

What do you do every day at work?

Punch in at 9:05 AM for your 9 o'clock shift?

Somehow just get-by till the clock hits 5 PM so that you can do it all over again tomorrow? ??

I'll tell you what we do.

Our JD asks us to do A, B, C, D, and E but we do H.

Maybe that's what keeps us so thrilled!

There's so much freedom and room to explore. We keep working on new projects and initiatives together.

Something or the other is always happening. ??

So here's how my day goes.

It's completely unpredictable!!

I walk in and see a smile on everyones face as I make my way to the Sales Bay. So many warm smiles! ??

Lol yes, then there's my team. The youngest and most vibrant at Chargebee! ??

It's always fun with these guys! ??

You just can't be dull. They will pull you up and make sure you laugh! ??

If you think I'm already sorted. There's my bigger team (Sales) and the even bigger team (Chargebee)! ??

We bring in such a beautiful and wide array of thoughts to the table.

From Surya and Nirmal who work 12-hour shifts purely because they want to; super-fun characters like RK, KY, and Subash; to Tanvi who asked me why I didn't quote her after I published this the first time! ????

There is no lack of entertainment what so ever! ????

People like Sagar and Joshua who keep giving me a pat in the back, encouraging me, helping me figure out what I want to do! ??

If I ever feel the temptation to give in to junk, all I have to do is to go talk to Srinivas or Deepak! Lol, come to think of it, I have someone to talk to about anything and everything! ????

If I start talking about each person, you're going to have to be scrolling for a bit! ??

Every single day at work is such a bliss! ?

What do you look for in your workplace?

There are two things, actually scratch that.

Three things: Opportunities, Recognition, Culture. 

Many orgs might say that they have a great culture. It might be great on paper but do they actually practice it? ???

Here at Chargebee,

We don't preach Culture. We practice it.

The warmth at work as soon as you walk into the office is the only testament you'll ever need! ??

Here's another small scenario that played out.

We hosted the first community meet of the Storytellers Tribe. ???♂?

It was a Saturday and surprise-surprise, two of our co-founders Krish and Raman joined us and they got here waay before we started.

Yous truly was sitting and piecing the feedback form together.

Raman came up to me and asked me if I needed any help! ??

Krish didn't just show up for the event, he actually filled out the form and registered! Massive respect! ????

Such happy faces! ????was so much fun! ??

If an opportunity presents itself and you're only 50% ready, grab it by the horns, ride it and figure out the remaining 50%!

Something beautiful that Krish keeps reinforcing! ????

Start. Just start!

You'll never be 100% ready for something. There will always be something missing. Something that can be done better!

work every day, doesn't even feel like work!

I'm this guy who joined the Sales team a few months back and the way how everyone keeps egging me on, help me push myself to do better with every passing day. It's just such a blessing??

Be it working on Playbooks, organizing the event that we just spoke about, working with other teams on new initiatives, being entrusted with responsibilities during our conference...

Life at Chargebee is definitely as busy as it can bee.????

He'd do this almost every other day! ????

Sharan actually walking up to me and saying continue to be proactive, reassuring me saying it's a good thing I'm doing.

Subash telling me that he knows it gets hard at times but asking me not to give in.

Lol, I need a separate 'Wall of Love' here. (A custom we have in our intranet! ??)

No matter what you do, it's really nice to see that people appreciate it! At the end of the day, they're the ones you're going out of your way to do these little things for and when you see that smile on their faces, you know it's all worth it! ??

Do you have a Manager who tells you, "I have your back no matter what Kaushik."?

A Teammate who says, "Listen, take care of yourself first, I'll get this done!".

A Founder who says, "Yes, I have plans for you and I've already informed the ones in charge."!

My People here!

I know every single person at work, I say Hi and flash a smile at all of them. Nothing can replace that for me! ??
