Charge Scheduling: what is it?

Charge Scheduling: what is it?

Charge Scheduling is a free feature of the Pod Point App which allows you to remotely schedule a charge. This allows you to adjust and personalise your charging schedule based on your specific driving habits.

Plus, you can significantly reduce the cost of charging your EV if you’re on a dual-rate electricity tariff, or by charging during off-peak hours.

Using the Pod Point App, you’ll also be able to keep track of your charge history, including costs and kWh consumed, as well as any public or workplace charging you do.

Note: It can take up to 10 minutes for charging to start and end from the time set.

How do I use Charge Scheduling?

Please note: Charge Scheduling is only available if your Solo can pair with Wi-Fi and the Pod Point App.

To be able to use Charge Scheduling, you’ll need to connect to Wi-Fi, download the Pod Point App and create an account. Once you’ve done this, head over to our app page to find full instructions on how to schedule a charge.

What is the default schedule and how do I override it?

When you first connect your Solo or Solo 3 home charger to the Pod Point App, a default charging schedule will be automatically applied. As a result, when your EV is plugged in it will charge during the following times:

?Monday to Friday - between 00:00 and 07:00

Saturday and Sunday - all day

However, you can set your own schedule or turn off the scheduling feature from the Pod Point App to charge outside these times. To find out more about charge scheduling take a look at our blog.?
