URL & WEBSITE STRUCTURE
Beside keyword research and content development, there are few technicalities we need to observe which helps our SEO.
The first one is the URL structure. URL (Unique Resource Locator) is simply the address of a given resource throughout the web, whether it is page, image or a document.
The structure of your website, and the clicks to browse and land on other pages, define your URL. Previously, including the keywords into your domain or URL could had been effective to some extent, but today, as Google's John Mueller, Webmaster Trends Analyst, explains, this element (embedding keywords of pages into domain or URLs), is not a key factor, impacting your rankings, positively.
The key point today is to generate, simple and short URLs, for the users. SEO, in line with all industries that may be correlated with, moves toward user-centricity.
So, including numbers, complicated terms and long words, in the URLs, all are confusing and unhelpful to users.
BACKLINKS
Backlinks are the links on other websites, driving organic visitors to your website. In fact, the more backlink you get, higher the impact on SEO. Meanwhile, backlinks from credible sites, such as popular news stations, governmental trusted sources and so on, could be one of the most important elements.

Anyhow, you may redirect the visitors from certain backlink to a page which you believe to get more conversions (you preferred action from visitor).
Backlinks can replace the tight competition with stronger websites over certain popular keyword. Link building is recommended to be from credible sources, not purchased but earned and increased over the time.
Try not to deal with other websites and refer each other via backlinks, because it might be even worse for your SEO. For link building you need to meet the key people in person and establishing relationship.
Security
SSL (Socket Secure Layer), prohibits others to interfere with the user and your website, and the HTTPS protocol observed, your website would remain secured.
Correlating title tags and keyword
Title tags are the blue larger font clickable links, that represent the result of a search. To optimize, ensure each title tag is correlated with the keyword of that page.
