Changing Your Business Perception

Are you looking for a new logo?

Maybe a new website?

Why??

? Is it because you feel you are not saying the right thing to the right people?

? Is it because you think your business looks tired and you’ve changed?

? Is it because your communications don't tell your story?

? Is it because customers are walking away – you're sales are stagnant?

? Is it because the perception of your business is wrong with your audience?

? Is it because you are merging with or acquiring a new business?

? Is it because teams are disjointed, and staff retention is hard??

STOP

?Let's be real - in today's crowded market, standing out from the pack and truly connecting with your audience is no easy feat. You might think slapping a fresh new logo or snazzy website on your business is the quick–fix solution to boosting sales and customer engagement.

But here's the truth bomb – cosmetic changes alone won't solve deeper issues like customers losing interest, or the perception of your business being misleading.

If you don't address the core of what your business stands for and why it exists beyond just making money, that shiny new look will only be putting a band–aid on the real problems. Your customers will still be heading for the exits, your messaging will continue to miss the mark, and your brand perception will remain out of whack. And that's because at the end of the day, we're all human – we crave authentic bonds that go beyond just transactions.

The real key to transforming your brand lies in tapping into the beating heart of your business. You've got to get real with yourself, peel back the layers and rediscover that genuine vision that drives you. When you align your purpose with what truly matters to your audience, that's when the magic happens. You create an emotional connection that resonates on a gut level.

Perception is powerful because it shapes beliefs and behaviors. When your brand's story clicks with how your customers inherently think and feel, they become raving fans who amplify your message and build serious loyalty. This harmonious vibe happens when you truly understand your audience's unique perspectives, pain points, and aspirations.

Now, visuals are huge for shaping perception – a whopping 80%+ of decisions are influenced by what people see. Words alone account for a tiny 7%. Mind-blowing, right?

If you can craft a complete brand experience that blends a visual expression, and messaging, with interactions and behaviours, you will spark the emotions of your audience’s desires, and like a moth to a flame you will draw them in.

How are you going to change perception?

How can you make that perception become the reality for your audience?

STEP 1. Create the Right Perception – Take a hard look at how your brand is currently perceived, find those open spaces to stand out, and craft a compelling narrative that hits home for your audience. Tap into their subconscious and influence.

STEP 2. Build Your Reputation – Walk the talk. Consistently deliver amazing experiences, behave accordingly, and share your brand story authentically to build serious credibility.

STEP 3. Cultivate Trust – Nurture those lasting relationships by truly listening to feedback, addressing concerns, and evolving to meet changing needs. Keep conversations with clients going, because talking and listening taps into their emotional side, and keeps you relevant.

?? This is why you can't jump into a new logo or website without doing some strategic work to figure out how to change the perception.?

?You need to know your obstacles?

?Why you exist beyond money?

?Where can you find white space away from the market noise?

?What matters to you?

?What matters to your audience?

?What is going to create that unbreakable bond with your audience?

??Only when you've laid this strategic foundation can you effectively rebrand with a new logo or website that's a true reflection of your redefined purpose with a story that resonates.

??Only then do you know how your logo and visuals should look, what colours, typography and imagery to use.

??Only then do you know how your website should be structured to bring your customers on your journey with you.

In this era of short attention spans and fierce competition, businesses have to transcend transactions and forge emotional connections. By putting your audience first, aligning with their values, and continually living your brand truth, you can elevate perception, build trust, and cultivate relationships that stand the test of time.

Absolutely, redesigning a logo or website can be tempting, but it's important to address the underlying issues first. Very interesting read, thank you for sharing Barbara Monahan FAIBF.

All true! Shiny outside image is just that, an image. Brilliant but not a problem solver on its own!
