Changing the way leaders are nurtured

Changing the way leaders are nurtured

Excited and honored to be speaking at the Academy of Management (AOM) Conference in beautiful Boston tomorrow. The conference is the largest gathering of management and organization scholars in the world and this year’s theme is ‘Putting the Worker Front & Center’.

In support of this focus, I’ll be working with the great Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) team to dive deep into a topic very close to my heart: the importance of reforming business school pedagogies to better equip the next generation of leaders with skills for multi-stakeholder delivery.?

In today's complex and interconnected world, the ability to navigate a diverse stakeholder landscape beyond the historical mindset of shareholder primacy has never been more crucial. Over the last +50 years traditional business school models have done much to drive corporate efficiency, but it's time we evolve and adapt to better address the multi-dimensional challenges our society is facing. I am keen to explore how business schools can equip the leaders of tomorrow with a more versatile skills toolbox through the way the business schools teach, nurture and facilitate student development.

I'm looking forward to engaging with fellow thought leaders and educators, sharing my insights and learning from the diverse perspectives that this esteemed gathering has to offer. Together, we can shape a future where businesses and business education contribute more significantly to sustainable and inclusive progress.

Let's rethink, reimagine, and reform how we prepare our future leaders for a world in constant flux. If you're attending, I'd love to connect and hear your thoughts on this matter. Let's foster these pivotal discussions that drive change!
