Changing Technological Landscape in Teaching

It’s been almost a decade since I have been teaching #mbastudents in Rural Management course in L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Mumbai (#weschool) as #visiting #faculty . I have seen sea change in teaching methods, thanks to the new technologies in education. These changes are more pronounced after the #covid19pandemic. As the #teachingandlearning system changed to #online during Covid, we, the teachers, were given orientation and training by WE School on using #webex and Learning Management System (#lmssoftware ). During 2020 & 2021 the teaching and examinations were completely online. The questions were also set accordingly (multiple choice, short answers).
From 2022, the physical classroom sessions were started again. However, by that time #newtechnologies were integrated into the education system. Gone are the days when the teachers had to visit the college, sit down, and evaluate the answer sheets. Now, the answers sheets are uploaded into the #cloudcomputing system, which we can access from our home and evaluate these answer sheets. The cloud computing system also helped us to upload #resources like #reading materials, slides, videos on WE school’s #cloud #terminal. Students can access these resources from the comfort of their homes?and complete and submit the assignments back to me. I can directly access videos/documentary films online in the classroom as an aid to my teaching.
Another big change I observed is in #students #attendancesystem. Year 2023 is the first year when I don’t have to carry attendance register. WE school has switched over to #student #attendance #automation for all lectures. Now student's attendance for all lectures is #qrcode based on #juno #erpsystem and there is no paper-pen attendance for the students in the classroom. The students have been given a #software , and they have to scan the QR code on the screen to mark their attendance. No more proxy attendance henceforth.

Integration of new technologies in education has changed the teaching landscape completely. The teaching faculty like me have been immensely benefited from integration of these technological innovation in the teaching methods.
There is a saying ???? ??? ????. It’s true in this case.
