Daily Standup is one of the simplest and the most powerful agile practices to improve team collaboration. But if we use it as just a status meeting, we are barely scratching the surface of its potential. Normal Daily standup format is prescribed as below which in my opinion promotes the status nature and is not helping either.
The problem with this format is that the focus goes mostly into status update of what was done yesterday. I feel the better format is the reversing the order of questions where "What I did yesterday?” is moved to the end and even make it optional to downplay its significance.
Try this simple tweak in the order of daily standup format and you can see the mindset shift.
This will help teams to shift their focus from status reporting of yesterday to planning for work that’s next in the queue. Basically move from status driven meetings to planning driven meetings.

3 年So true, it should be a collabration meeting rather a status update meeting. My 2 cents, Need a change the way team members how they address. Instead of, "Hi Xxxx(srum master or PM). Today I will be working on.." Should address like, "Hi Team. Today I will be working on..." All team members should listen and understand what other team members are working in...
